Pogi Person

So that sign is a sign for a pogi person, which means attractive.  So basically I'm just saying that I'm freakin attractive in all the stuff... but really anything new there??  Ya that's whats up! hahaha

Thanks for sending a package!!  I can't wait to get it!!  I know it costs a crap load of money, so thank you again so much!!  So crazy that CiCi (neighbor that served in Denver, Colorado mission)  is already back from her mission.  Wow that went by so fast!!  Miss those Milau's so much.  I talk to Semisi (serving in Honolulu, Hawaii) and Latu (serving in Anchorage, Alaska) on p day or email them!

So the work is freakin crazy here.... First I'll start by saying what happened.  So good news first, 2 people got their mission calls here.  One girl is going to England!!  And the other is going to Hawaii!!  So its really crazy because they speak English but they don't really know English very well.  Well they take English here but don't speak it at all!!  And usually the Filipino's get assigned to another place in the Philippines.  But because of all the extra missionaries that have submitted their papers.  A ton of them are getting sent to other countries as well now!!  So that was really cool!!!!

OK so this branch that I am in right now is freakin crazy.  Everyone just loves to fight with each other and no one will humble them selves to admit that they did something wrong!!  Gotta love it!  It's so bad that half the people are less active because they got offended by someone in the branch.  Freakin crazy people they are.  Way too sensitive.  Boy does it test my patience with them!!  I just wanna straight up tell them that their freaking idiots for not humbling themselves. That their stiff neckedness is keeping them from the blessings of the gospel.  So the branch president talked to us about what is going on.  He has to release some people for certain reasons.  But when the people get released, they go out and tell everyone that it wasn't for any reason or just because he doesn't like them.  So then they get mad at the branch president.  So holy crap, I just miss America where people will talk out their problems and wont sit and yell at each other so much.  So that's the news with the branch.

The work is going pretty good.  We only had 1 investigator come to church but we found this great family who is really receptive to the gospel.  Before we even set a return appointment, they asked if we would come back and share because they really like what we have to share with them!!  So that is pretty good!!  Doing a lot of finding right know just so we have a great pool of people.  So we can get a lot coming to church!!  That's basically the work now!  Tagalog is coming along so well!!  I understand basically all know and can answer, so its really cool! Gotta keep practicing though!!  So I will be able to talk to you all in Tagalog!!  Can't wait to hear from uncle Tim and talk to him in Tagalog!!  That's gonna be the best!!

Tomorrow marks the 5 month mark since I started my mission.  Holy crap, it feels like it has only been a couple weeks.  Can't believe its been like 152 days since I've seen you guys!!  Of course, I miss ya, but its pretty sweet here!!  Love you guys!!  Miss you and don't worry about me.  I got this place under control!! hahaha  Love you all!! Mahal ko kayo! Tandaan palagi na ang simbahan ni jesucristo ng mga banal sa mga huling araw ay totoo!! At kung gagawin natin ang part natin, basbasan tayo  ng diyos!!  (I love you! Remember always that the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints is true! And if we do our part, God bless us!)  Love you!!

Still Humble

Sounds like a party of a week!!  (Our ward had an "American Idol" competition)  I will try and watch the videos, but I don't know if it's allowed or not.  I will ask my zone leaders and see if I can!

But this last week was a good week!! Can't believe I'm almost out 5 months, crazy how fast the time flies!!  But ya, I love my companion.  He is great and is really helpful in helping me to do stuff that I  don't like to do!!  So its really a great experience.  Definitely love the help he is to me!!!   So I don't have much time to email today because we had a zone activity.  Maybe I'll talk about that a bit.  It was fun.  We did some weird games, don't know how to describe it because the games here are crazy and not really games.  But more like see how can do the most embarrassing thing.... hahaha

Zone activity earlier today.  We went to a coconut farm so that was kinda fun!! Climbed up the high trees!!

So this last week we have found some new people to teach.  We had exchanges where we switch companions for a day.  I thought it would be cool to go with Elder Callister.  He is from my batch (group at the MTC.)  So we are the exact same in the mission.  That was awesome, he is way chill!!! Definitely relate to him a ton.  I love talking with him.  He's just way cool and we relate in like everything.  It's tight!!  So the teaching was sick because we are both Americans.  That doesn't ever happen really unless exchanges, so we taught.  He's good in the language!!  But siyempre (course) I'm just a stud right??  Ya I'm humble still!! (: Hahahaha   So I led the lessons.  We had some new investigators so that was a way fun time!!  The investigator is crazy but she has great potential!!!

Sorry not to much detail.  We don't have very much time at all this day!!  Love you guys and take care.  Just remember to do the good things like church, read, and pray!!!  Love you guys.  Take care!! Let me know how things are like in Utah!!  Here is still crazy!!  Love you and miss you tons!!

Di ba

Dear mom and friends!!

That is so great to hear that Lexi Hansen is doing so much better now.  I have been praying for her this time and really am so glad she is doing better!!  She was such a great person!!  Love the gospel so much.  It really does give such a great example to us and how we can be happy in this life!!

So this last week was a good week!! We did a lot of OYMing (Open Your Mouth).  I'm starting to really understand casual conversation.  So I can actually reply in Tagalog and stuff.  So it's pretty tight!!!  Gotta love learning a new language!!   Uncle Tim and I are gonna tell stories to each other in Tagalog and secrets about you guys.  You are never gonna know.  It's gonna be so awesome!!   hahahaha  That's kinda what I'm most excited for.   haha   Gotta love being able to speak in secret code di ba? (right) Haha  Astig naman!

Sige so this last week was good.  We found some new investigators and got some really good lessons done!!  The only bad thing was that none of them came to church.  It was the first time that we have had 0 investigators come to church.  But a lot of them were gone on vacation.  We committed some more to baptism.  So we will just keep working.  I know the lord is with us when we do this work.  As long as we keep doing the things we need to be, he is always going to help us in everything that we do!!  Sorry my English is garbage now! (it is!!)  But remember just keep focusing on the gospel and the lord will bless us!! (Read to us the book of Mormon every day and pray every day also, this is what means for us to be happy here on earth and makaroon peace! Continue to be diligent and God bless you, because everyone in this world is a child of God, and this is what her work, that help us to draw closer to him!)

I love you guys!! If you don't understand that have Uncle Tim translate for you!! :p  Hahaha  Keep up the great work back home and remember that I love you guys!!   The church is true and always remember to look for ways to serve others!!!!!

So that black on my face is not a punch mark so don't worry, its just charcoal for a game that we played!!

P.S. Tell Margetts and Van Wagenan if they don't email me, I'm coming back to America to knock them out.... like really talaga.... Maraming salamat!! (many thanks!!) Love you guys!!

March 3, 2014

Dear Brother and Sister Hedman:

Recently, your son, Elder Macallen Arthur Hedman, was appointed to serve as a Senior Companion in the Philippines Angeles Mission. Accordingly, we wanted to extend our gratitude to you for sending such a wonderful young man to our mission.  Elder Hedman is a great asset to us because of his obedience and dedication to the work.

Thank you for raising Elder Hedman to be the kind of young man he is.  You can be proud of him and the work that he is doing here.

Sincerely,

David C. Martino
President

(I have to be honest, not really sure what senior companion means except that he has been there longer than his companion.  And more reports to fill out!)

I'm still in the same area so that is pretty good.  I love my new companion.  His name is Elder Magno.  He is diligent and really loves the work and wants to see progression.  So it is so much better!!  I love it because he actually wants to have studies and review the things in the night!!  So I  actually am really loving this next transfer!!  We have had a hard time getting people to come to church, but this last week with him we had 55 oym (Open Your Mouth) which is 20 above our standard of excellence.  And 12 new investigators, so that was so awesome seeing how many more people that we are showing the gospel of Jesus Christ too!!  I also have been learning Tagalog a lot more and am able to start understanding a lot of stuff.  So that is pretty sweet!!  I guess we will see where I am at the next time that I get to Skype!!  Sorry the letter is a little short this week!!  We are short on time got a lot of work to do and reports to fill out!!  Love you guys!!  Keep up the great work back home!!
